Hey, I’m Bill with Booming Bookkeeping Business, and I’m here with another one of my successful students. This is Irina, and since joining the program, she has doubled her revenue. So, Irina, thanks for being here.

Thank you for having me. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your business. So, I was working in the hospitality industry, and of course, the COVID hit, and that was back March to where we were sent home, and I knew we were sent home for only like two or three weeks, but as the time was going, I knew it’s going to be longer than that, and I started looking into the ways to where I can maybe train myself to do something different or look into different opportunities just because I knew that the hospitality might not happen.

My friend reached out to me, and she was having difficulties to reconcile her banks, and I said, okay, I can give it a try, and that’s how I came across QuickBooks online and started to look into it, how to pass exam and how to get certified and the help that I need to get. So, I knew that I needed some help because even though I was familiar in working in accounting business on the program side, it was a little bit complicated in a way, and this is how I came across Bill’s program. So, I decided to give it a try, and here we are.

Very cool. What made you choose the Booming Bookkeeping Business program over some of the other options that are out there? I liked the idea that it was free training with this. So, even though you had to sign up maybe later, but it gave you valuable information at the time that I needed, and I wanted more.
So, I took the class, the free class, and I read about more, and I thought, okay, well, I needed this security or somebody guiding me or in case if I am wrong or I just need the guidance, and I think going through the program that you had and the classes, the class that you offered at first, I thought, yes, I can continue further. I felt very comfortable.
Yeah, I mean, that’s one of the things that people find the most valuable because honestly, you can learn bookkeeping anywhere. Marketing is a little bit more challenging to learn, but what I really enjoy doing is being there kind of as a mentor for people. So, when you have questions to reach out, and I know you did that. And this is specific.
This is very specific for me because when I read that very bottom line, where like one, two, three, this is what you get with your program, and then at the very bottom, it said, and I will give you a review on your QuickBooks ProAdvisor profile. I’m like, what? So, they’re going to help me to write this because yes, I’m a bookkeeper. I’m an accountant.
I don’t do really well with writing. I could put things together, but somebody with experience, somebody who can tell you how is the, or what is the best way to put it all together? And in the end, when I saw it, oh my gosh, it comes with, oh my gosh, Bill is going to help me to put my profile together and guide me, and you did. And because of you, I created my profile and then I had my website and received all the feedback and tweak it a little bit or tweak it a little bit here and there.
So, and that was great. And I think that was my selling point right there. I will help you with your QuickBooks profile, advisor profile. I’m like, yes. You’ve gotten a bunch of business from the ProAdvisor profile too, I know. I did, I did. That was time well spent. Yes, exactly.
So, in addition to like the mentorship and, you know, the kind of the help with the profile, what else about the program makes it so effective? What I do love about this program is that you’re part of the team and you’re part of the very strong community sense. So we have Facebook group and chat to where we can help each other. Or sometimes I don’t even participate a lot writing questions or asking, but I see that somebody already asked a question and I like how everybody jump right there and help.
So I think it’s more communal sense and helping each other because a lot of times, you know, going to, oh my gosh, you guys are in this industry, or did you have experience with this? Or which bank is better? Or have you seen this? So, and then people answer all your questions. I think it’s great. And sometimes you don’t even have to ask. And of course the call, I have, I haven’t been on the calls lately, but I loved it to where Bill answers all the questions.

So you just jug down all the ideas within the week and then you go on a call and you ask the question and you never missed me. Like every time I had a question, you answered it and you spent time on it too. It’s not like, yeah, sure, whatever. No, you actually took time explain, you give each person time to ask the question and you always ask how we’re doing. So, which is nice too, because then you have that sense of, okay, somebody really do care. That’s true.
And I do care. And that is how I believe people are successful is that you, you know, I’m able to answer your specific questions. We work directly together. You don’t work with somebody on my team, you work with me and that’s how you’re successful.
You have a day job, right? I do. So I work full time. So bookkeeping is something on a side. And for me, it’s only a few clients. So right now I have currently five clients and this is enough for me, but maybe down the line I could move towards my own business, but right now I’m loving my job.
And that’s important because it’s, you know, some, everybody’s in a different spot. You know, we have a lot of people that want to join this program and make six figures and you can do that. But we also have a lot of people that want to start and they just want a few clients on the side because they love their full-time job.
We’ve got a couple of people in the program that work for nonprofits and those people are really passionate about what they do. So they don’t necessarily want to just move on to doing something else. They love that nonprofit, or maybe they’re retired and they just want a couple of clients.
So I think there’s a lot of people out there like you, you love your nine to five, and you’re happy with bringing on just a couple of clients, you know, having five clients supplementing your income and, you know, just having a little bit more security and flexibility. Exactly. You know, it’s good to have that supplemental income, like you said, and, you know, and if you’re not quite sure, or if you’re stuck somewhere, there is a strong community that can help you to get through that with a Booming Bookkeeping Business.
So I feel maybe down the line, I can move it and make it a big business or grow it. But right now, I think I’m just happy as I am.
Cool. So tell me, as a result of going through the program, how are things different for you? How are things different? So number one, I do have my profile done, right? So without a program, I wouldn’t be able to do it. Well, I probably would do it. But would it be right? Maybe, but now I know that is right.
So deep inside, I know it’s right. So I did my profile. Obviously, I got a phone calls and people reach out through the profile. So it was successful. I have my website done, which I also asked the feedback and we had to tweak a few things, right?
So because of the program, I was able to do both. And also those the pricing calculator, you know, I have a tool that I can use in case if I need to or contract that you give or agreement. So you can also tweak that a little bit, but you already have a form done for you. So just use it, maybe modify to change it. But there’s a lot of tools that you could use as well.
So and then marketing, like I said, I don’t use it any like right now. But there are a lot of marketing opportunities within the program that you offer. So that’s something I wasn’t able to do or use, because I don’t need it. But if somebody who wants to grow to six figure salary, they could definitely do it.
And in your personal life, how are things different? I was able to help my mom. So my mom and dad, they live overseas. So I was able to help them financially as well, while this whole COVID craziness is happening. So to kind of know, even though I’m not there, but I can help them otherwise. So I can send them extra cash to go buy them medicine, they need a food or things like that.

That’s cool. So what would you say to someone who’s thinking of starting a bookkeeping business? We right now in this world to where we have to take challenges and maybe retrain ourselves to do something different. So a lot of people do reach out and ask, Okay, what do we do now? Or where can I go? What kind of job can I do to be able to work in the times that we’re living in right now? So this this one is kind of offers you that opportunity.
So you can work remotely, you can work from home. I do training sometimes for the clients where I do it on zoom or on my FaceTime, you know, I can do those things, I don’t have to go in an office anymore, you can do it all remotely. So regardless of pandemic, but things have to be reported, done and reports has to be made and taxes has to be filed.
And so that doesn’t stop. Just because we can’t step out of the house doesn’t mean that we lose the opportunity. So I think it’s great opportunity for somebody who thinks of doing something different.
Try it and their tools for it, their programs like this for it. So Bill is there to help you. I want people to be successful.
