Hey, it’s Bill Von Fumetti here with Booming Bookkeeping Business and today I’m with another one of my successful students. This is Rosina. Rosina, thanks for coming.

(0:10 – 0:18)
Hello, going great. Good, good, good. So let’s talk a little bit about what life looked like for you before you started your bookkeeping business.

(0:18 – 0:51)
So before the bookkeeping business, I was working so crazy hours, 45 hours to 50 hours a week, very little in flexibility, you know, like 95. And then on most weekends, I would be in the office working. So, you know, with being a single mom with three children and working that many hours was very, very not fun.

Stressful was not fun. So I needed a way out. And then I found your group.

(0:51 – 1:26)
So normally when people start their bookkeeping businesses, they have some fears or concerns about getting started. What were some of the concerns or fears that you had starting your business? You know, the bookkeeping business, I mean, the most challenges that I had were talking to new people, talking to potential clients. And, you know, I mean, I know my ability in bookkeeping, but it’s just that conveying them as far as, you know, because we don’t know each other.

(1:26 – 1:54)
So try to earn that trust and trying to, you know, get new clients. Well, that was fearful. But then once we get into like, you know, I was giving them some solutions and the possibilities of how we can fix it.

And then, you know, it gets better. But every single time we get on the phone call is that initial jitters that you have until you get the conversation going. So that was challenging.

(1:55 – 2:27)
So looking back, are those things much easier for you now? It’s much easier now, you know, after so many phone calls, you know, and after, you know, like know, like from experience, like how to handle certain situations and things like that. And you can kind of learn from every phone call, really, you know. So and I find it easier for me to like interaction, like individually, like, you know, you have those remote clients, but then you also have people in your community as well.

(2:28 – 2:56)
So and I like the I like I like the aspect of helping business owners in local areas. That’s really good. Yeah.

I mean, the work the work we’re doing has an actual impact on people, which is cool. So a lot of people watching this may have, you know, concerns over whether or not I can get clients. What would you say to alleviate someone’s concerns that, you know, that they can get clients? I feel like you don’t have to convince the clients.

(2:56 – 3:15)
You have to have that confidence in yourself. If you feel like you’re lacking in some areas, you know, I would try to prepare yourself, like maybe, I don’t know, take a class or read up on it. Or, you know, if you have that confidence, it shows.

(3:16 – 3:49)
If you have somebody that’s willing to be confident and put in the work, what would you say, you know, to them in terms of how successful they could be getting clients? I would say, you know, prepare yourself so you feel confident. And I would say if you’re thinking about going to this business doing bookkeeping, I would say, you know, with your flexibility, with your life-changing opportunities, I say go for it, make it happen. You know, this whole team, this group is great.

(3:49 – 3:59)
They really do support you in really anything. What would you say to somebody wondering whether or not they could learn bookkeeping? Because some people watching this are brand new. They don’t know any bookkeeping.

(3:59 – 4:17)
What would you say to them to help them feel comfortable that learning bookkeeping is possible? Something anybody can do if you’re willing to put in some work. Learning bookkeeping is very possible. If you would like to be more confident in your work, take a class.

(4:17 – 4:28)
Take a bookkeeping class. Learn that foundation. And plus, you know, QuickBooks online software that we use is definitely great resource as well.

(4:28 – 4:59)
But if you want to learn, you know, the accounting equations, you know, take some time and study it and have the foundation knowledge and you feel good about your ability in providing your service too. So when you started your business, you started where we all started with at zero, right? And so now things look differently. What are you looking at in terms of revenue, number of clients, those types of things? So I worked out the math.

(5:00 – 5:16)
It’s very possible to do those six-figure income. I mean, you definitely could have your mixture of clients. Some need more your attention, you know, you charge them higher and some may not need as much in your attention.

(5:16 – 5:34)
And then you’ll have that monthly recurring revenue. How about you specifically in terms of revenue and how many clients you have and things like that? So I started out with zero client. And then when I, you know, a friend of mine needed help and that’s when I signed up with your group.

(5:34 – 5:59)
So right away, it was already paid off from that one client because I still have that person nowadays. So that was in 2021. And now I’m up to six clients, you know, and I’m just going to throw out a number and I charged him like 750 a month.

(5:59 – 6:17)
So how much are you at total revenue every month? So right now I’m at six grand. So, I mean, that’s pretty cool. I mean, about six grand a month, you said.

(6:17 – 6:33)
How many hours are you working on average? On average, so it depends. I don’t even, I don’t work more than 30 hours in any single month. I really don’t.

(6:33 – 7:05)
So how, like, how is life different for you? How has life changed now that you’re your own boss? Vacation with my kids, making the memories, you know, because that was the whole thing that I had to make the change was they were getting older and older. And I feel like I’m missing out a lot on spending time with them on weekends. I had work and being a single mom, I couldn’t be, you know, not work.

(7:06 – 7:21)
You know, the flexibility is great and that has changed. How do you feel about what you’ve done and accomplished? I mean, you’ve got to be proud of yourself. I mean, you know, I am, I am, I’m blessed and I could do more.

(7:21 – 7:29)
There’s always room to critique yourself. You can always, always, always do more. But where I’m at now, I’m just blessed.

(7:29 – 7:41)
So what would you say to someone else who’s considering starting a bookkeeping business? Don’t wait, just go for it. There’s no reason to wait. I mean, make it happen, you know.

(7:42 – 7:53)
There’s a will, you know, there’s always a way. It will change your life. There’s no need to, you know, go from one job to another job.

(7:53 – 8:02)
Just grab your opportunity and grow with it. What a great story you have. And I’m, I’m, I’m really proud of you.

(8:02 – 8:13)
And I’m, you know, your kids, your kids, I mean, man, they’re going to look back and be like, wow, what a, what an incredible role model we have. So I’m, I’m, that’s very cool. Thank you for sharing your story.

(8:13 – 8:16)
Yep. You’re very welcome. Thank you.

(8:16 – 8:20)
And we’ll talk to you soon. Okay. All right.

(8:20 – 8:24)
Have a good weekend and reach out to me. Okay. I will.

(8:24 – 8:26)
Okay. Bye-bye. Bye.

(8:26 – 8:27)
We’ll see you. Bye.
